Two Adam’s and Bird’s mean Max Power for Dubai 24 hour

Ciceley Motorsport’ is relishing the task of their new GT Team’s first long distance race on the 12th of January, the Creventic 24hr of Dubai. Ciceley Motorsport have transformed two of their Generation 4 Renault Clio UK Cup cars ready for the event which includes new 100 litre Fuel Cells, Suspension, Brakes, Engine Management and Cooling systems which have been modified ready for the heat of the desert.

Joining Ciceley Motorsport’s British Touring Car Championship driver, Adam Morgan, is the teams Renault Clio UK front runner Max Coates who has assisted with the development of the car. Joining Max is the experienced German racing driver Harald Rettich and Adam Hatfield who also brings along a wealth of GT knowledge.

The last 2 confirmed drivers are joining Adam Morgan and are the reason that Ciceley set up the GT team, to nurture and assist with the development of the country’s fastest talented young drivers. Max Bird and Frank Bird are also on board. Young Max has enjoyed many podiums in a fantastic first full year in the GT 5 package around the UK last year and even won his first race in the Championship and Adam was his first race car instructor. Frank Bird had his first ever race car lesson with Adam at a windy Bedford Autodrome a few years ago and has progressed rapidly from Ginetta Juniors in 2015 to race in the British F4 in 2016 and European Formula Renault with Fortec in 2017. Both Max and Frank will share one the Ciceley Motorsports Clio’s with Adam for the event.

A further late signing sees Jake Giddings, a driver Max raced in both Ginetta Juniors and the UK Clio Cup, join the fold.

Adam Morgan “We can’t wait for the race to start the lads have worked really hard on the cars and they drive and look fantastic. I’m really happy with the lads we have joining us and I am looking forward to driving with both Max and Frank. Max Coates has a car full of experience so the competition between cars should be extremely close.”

Norman Burgess Commercial Director “This is it! Ciceley Motorsport GT’s first endurance race, we have been looking forward to this since July, we plan to do a few more events with the Clio’s throughout 2018 Silverstone in March then Spa and Monza. We have a great mix of drivers that we are looking forward to working with, young, old, unexperienced and experienced but all are talented and fast. We have made considerable investment in to the team for 2018 and an announcement regarding this expansion will be made in due course. We can’t wait for the news to be announced.”

Max Coates said “I’m really looking forward to my first international and endurance car race and it’s great to be doing it with the Ciceley Motorsport team. They’re preparation for the event has been first class and I’m looking forward to meeting both my team mates Adam and Harald as well as Max, Frank and Jake out in Dubai. The car is a bit different to drive than the UK Clio Cup car, largely due to the repositioning and larger fuel tank but that’s exactly why I want to do this, to learn endurance racing.”

Details of live streaming of the race will be available in due course.

Coates is hoping to announce his main racing campaign shortly after returning from Dubai and is working closely with his sponsors, Harron Homes, Clements, Primex Plastics, PLASgran Recycling and JT Atkinson Builders Merchants who will be featured on his car’s bonnet in Dubai, to put a deal together before February.
